Gameplay – Beat Hazard

Posted by Rob, March 7, 2015 11:36 am

Shield your eyes! Beat Hazard goes on the offensive, assaulting Zac and Rob’s vision with it’s spaceships, guns, music and neon.

This video has a lot of flashing lights. Heed this warning if you suffer from photosensitive epilepsy or anything similar.

Gameplay – Infinifactory

Posted by Rob, February 8, 2015 10:11 am

When Zac got his hands on the “kinda sequal” to Spacechem there was no way he wasn’t going to force Rob to make a video of it. So here’s Infinifactory. Get puzzlin’.

LATS – Infinifactory #23 of 100

Badge and Certificate

Look at this shiny! Despite thinking it wasn’t very likely on the Saladcast, Zac did in fact end by being in the first 100 people to complete the game and can’t help but show off his loyalty to Zachtronic Industries. It’s not just a bold claim either as the game’s creator sent him a patch to attach. Bask in his glory.

Check out Zac in his usual science attire after the break.

SaladCast 128 (25th January 2015) – Infinidrive

Posted by Rob, January 25, 2015 9:32 pm

I don’t work in the manufacturing industry but if I did I would want everything to be made by robot arms, possibly robot arms making robot arms to make more robot arms. Perhaps this is the true singularity. It’s got nothing to do with AI, just a pile of robot arms that eventually engulfs the planet. Oh how I muse.

In this episode: Sunset Overdrive, Halo Nightfall, Infinifactory, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Factorio, Guild Wars 2, Hololens, Halo 5: Guardians and Transistor.

Gameplay – Transistor

Posted by Rob, January 18, 2015 4:03 pm

Given that we couldn’t really decide on a game of the year for 2014 properly this time over at, we thought we should at least give Zac’s pick a bit of a look. So here is Supergiant Games’ Transistor in full colour.

SaladCast 127 (10th January 2014) – Oversistor

Posted by Rob, January 11, 2015 12:46 pm

It’s official, January sucks. Trying to remember how you functioned before having a ton of time off to just lounge about and play video games is really hard, the gaming news dries up and it’s cold. Is “post-holiday-depression” a thing?

Help counter those January blues with an episode of the SaladCast! In our first podcast of 2015 we talk about a few films, DDoS attacks, Valkyria Chronicles, Guild Wars 2, Transistor, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Halo 5, Sunset Overdrive.

Internet routers suck too.

Gameplay – Banished

Posted by Rob, December 30, 2014 1:49 pm

Zac and Rob make it to the B’s in their Steam A-Z thanks to Banished, a town management sim reminiscent of some of the ideas from the original Settlers. Zac instructs Rob how to live when all you have is a few highly skilled workers and nature.

It’s time for another round of mopping up some side quests. We deal with a piano, a cave, a pagoda and a boat with plenty of room for a bit of head scratching.

Gameplay – Awesomenauts

Awwww yeah! It’s about time we did this! Rob finally gets to try and show Zac why he loves this game. “Awesome” is in the title so it’s gotta be good, right?

GlacialSpoon – Saria’s Drop

Posted by Rob, November 29, 2014 1:02 pm

So Rob will ocassionally abuse the air in the form of making some music under the guise of “GlacialSpoon” but this is a first. His remix of The Lost Woods entitled “Saria’s Drop” made it onto OCRemix, the popular collection of fan made video game music remasters. You can check it out right here via youtube:

It turns out that an airship can’t get you everywhere and Shinra are everywhere. In another slightly odd section of Final Fantasy VII Zac and Rob hunt for Huge Materia underwater… maybe?

SaladCast 123 (15th November 2014) – Advanced Boomonetta
