It’s time for the Salad Games 2016. For the first event we must embrace the new tradition of there being at least one interruption Rob has to deal with per episode. We refer to an classic problem maker, the doorbell. How long into the episode do we make it before it rings? The winner is the closest guess and will win a golden delicious apple they must purchase themselves.
This episode contains fridges, No Man’s Sky, DOOM, keyboards and mice, Factorio, XCOM 2, Nano Assault EX, headphones, Overwatch and the aforementioned interruption.
Whilst playing the opening hour of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst Zac and Rob attempt to piece together how it is a prequel to the first game without accurately remembering how the first game went. This should be informative then.
There’s Sonic news! There’s Sonic news! For Zac and Rob this is a big deal so let’s chat about the possibilities and the probability of them being crap.
There’s a tiny bit of other news, DOOM, escape rooms, Starbound, house grouse, Factorio, Metal Gear Solid V, honey shoes, Rocket League and XCOM 2.
What if money was your weapon? Zac and Rob find out how that works by means of the Rogue-like Coin Crypt.
Rob often gets a bit of a ribbing from his cohorts about what he considers newsworthy for the cast but this week fate leaves Zac in charge of Rob’s list… so some stuff may get a bit ignored.
This week we have new PC’s, XCOM 2, maintenance, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Day of the Tentacle: Remastered, steering wheel updates, Pokémon GO and gums.
CS:GO gambling is shady. Everyone’s on the take.
Zac reckons this was the first game he ever bought so we simply have to go back and see what caused him to part ways with his dosh. Cyril Cyberpunk hovers his way to save the planet from mutated teddy bears… Zac has interesting taste.

Continuing on with our coverage of the future of the games industry as described in a glossy form by the games industry we have Ubisoft getting eagles, SONY effervescing, Nintendo ebbing and other news existing.
It’s time for the three E’s to come together and combine their powers to open a portal to the games of tomorrow, distilling this vision down into a series of press conferences. In Part 1 of our chronological retelling, EA gets embarrassing, Bethesda gets elderly and Mircrosoft gets enthused.
Get hype! E3 is only a couple of days away so it’s time to mop up all the leaks before we bathe in the convention goodness. Everyone is spilling their drinks from Sony to Nintendo, Microsoft Ubisoft… I think everybody’s drunk before the party has begun.
Also this week: Quantum Break, football, Overwatch, Minecraft, Watchdogs 2, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, Speedrunners, Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, hot tubs and a good helping of speculation.
Perseverance is definitely a requirement to success in this game. Having been beaten by the Final Fortress before Zac and Rob have another stab at finishing the Team Sonic story in Sonic Heroes on the PC. Now presented in 60FPS.
Rob is back from Japan and now forced to live in the here and now again. Fortunately the Saladcast is here and a little bit now, so come and live with us in it.

This one’s for all you marathon runners. Had we put this out ahead of the race we’d have got the average person through around 13 miles. You can call your own cab from Tower Bridge though.

You are a member of a well equipped army of big headed guys until you get shot out of space and crash on an unfriendly planet… why is it always an unfriendly planet where everything sucks? Zac and Rob attempt to shoot their way back to the cold vastness of space in Capsized.
Fair warning, we had quite a few problems with the captured footage. This is edited down to cut out most of the rubbish but will suffer from stuttering here and there.
