Gameplay – Sonic Colours, Part 3 – That’s Right, I’m Stretching

Posted by Rob, June 2, 2018 12:50 pm

It’s another “double zoner” this time featuring the creatively named Asteroid Coaster and Aquarium Park which are levels set on asteroids and in an aquarium. Clever.

Gameplay – Revolt (RVGL)

Posted by Rob, May 22, 2018 9:18 pm

There aren’t many racing cars that let you drive a Panda with wheels for feet, but then there aren’t many physics based kart racers featuring RC cars at all (lies). Zac and Rob revisit a good one, courtesy of the RVGL mod.

Gameplay – Sonic Colours, Part 2 – Pretty Gassy

Posted by Rob, April 30, 2018 5:49 pm

It’s sometimes said that Sonic games like to play themselves and Star Carnival might be a pretty good example to wag your finger at. Zac and Rob just let things happen.

Gameplay – Sonic Colours, Part 1 – Premeditated Misdeeds

Posted by Rob, April 21, 2018 7:32 pm

We’ve defended Sonic Colours countless times on the SaladCast so we should probably attempt to demonstrate why. Zac and Rob have a rave and get the munchies in Tropical Resort and Sweet Mountain.

Presented in lovely 1080p thanks to emulation via Dolphin.

Gameplay – Eets Munchies

Posted by Rob, February 24, 2018 11:56 am

Presumably part of the mobile focused “guide thing to food” puzzle genre, Eets Munchies has a lot of work to do to impress Zac and Rob. Who’s hungry?

Gameplay – Dyad

Posted by Rob, February 12, 2018 8:06 pm

There aren’t a lot of words that accurately describe Dyad. You squid your way down blurry pipes doing things to glowing balls whilst computers sing to you. Zac and Rob swallow the appropriate pills.

Gameplay – Dust: An Elysian Tail

Posted by Rob, January 28, 2018 1:10 pm

Monsters, amnesia and a talking sword. All the standard boxes are thoroughly ticked here but Dust manages to stand out in our memories. Zac and Rob try to find the perfect word to describe it.

Gameplay – Micro Machines V3, Part 1

Posted by Rob, December 22, 2017 1:09 pm

This year saw Brian Blessed introduce a new Micro Machines game but do you know what was better? An old Micro Machines game of course! Zac and Rob revisit the best and go through half the tracks in a gruelling one on one contest.

Gameplay – Dungeon of the Endless

Posted by Rob, December 10, 2017 10:41 am

If this game is right and dust really is power, my house is mighty. Zac and Rob survive the Dungeon of the Endless by giving up on having a clean abode focusing on Industry, Science and a choice of shirt instead.

Posted by Rob, November 12, 2017 9:27 pm

Enough time has passed. Let’s pick up where we left off in our quick tour of the games we once made using The Games Factory.

This time on “solving problems with sticky balls”: a larger sumo wrestler, speed cleaning, escaping death by credits and planetary disaster avoidance. You need a Katamari in your life today!

Gameplay – Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time

Posted by Rob, October 16, 2017 6:47 pm

Transmogrifying a pet and then destroying the future would be a pretty trying day for most people. Doc Clock seems to be used to this, as does his companion Sack. Zac and Rob have no idea how to survive under our new robot overlords but are convinced that gnomes are the answer.

Gameplay – Divide by Sheep

Posted by Rob, October 6, 2017 5:10 pm

Zac and Rob discover the surprisingly murderous world of solving maths problems with sheep, wolves and lasers.

Gameplay – We Love Katamari, Part 4 – Hoy! Tweet!

Posted by Rob, September 17, 2017 5:03 pm

Everyone wants a piece of the King and the King is happy to oblige as long as it’s in ball form. Zac and Rob continue to recycle the planet, underwater, to a fixed amount, in the dark and with a phobia for cows a bears.

Gameplay – Deadcore

Posted by Rob, September 11, 2017 6:39 pm

“Speedrunning’s a thing, so let’s make a game about that! and cubes!” is the pitch for Deadcore. As part of the D’s in the Steam A-Z, Zac and Rob shun the speed part and instead focus on the cubes. So many cubes.

Gameplay – We Love Katamari, Part 3 – Save the Pandas!

Posted by Rob, August 29, 2017 1:32 pm

The scale is increasing and the requirements are getting weirder. Zac and Rob hit the gas, choose topiary and attempt to discover whether children are susceptible to giant flaming balls, all for the King’s pleasure.

Gameplay – Deadbolt

Posted by Rob, August 13, 2017 10:51 am

Knock, knock. Who is it? Death. Death who? No, Death for you! *pistol crack*

Zac and Rob cleanse the undead from candle town, blindly following orders from a talking fireplace. Deadbolt everybody.

Posted by Rob, July 30, 2017 10:43 am
